On June 28, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a wreck near Mile 48 of the Steese Highway. Troopers report the driver lost control of the vehicle and drove off the roadway causing the vehicle to roll. The driver of the vehicle was ejected and later succumbed to injuries while being transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Injuries to the passenger are unknown at this time pending further investigation by Alaska State Troopers.
